A few months ago, I published a refutation of the Chick tract “The Prophet” (see below for the links).  The tract summarized the conspiracy theory made famous by Jack Chick and Alberto Rivera that the Vatican “created” Islam.  Of course, reasonable people will laugh at such a theory from the get-go, but believe it or not, it is actually believed by a lot of people!  Take for example the blog “Mary Carmel News“.  This particular blog clearly is pushing the conspiracy theory as “truth”, but when I attempted to refute the theory back in June of this year, the comment was “awaiting moderation”.  More than two months later, the comment is STILL awaiting moderation!  I only checked because I got an email that other comments had been made, so I went back to the blog and saw that my original comment was STILL not published (see the screenshot below)!  I then made another comment, which is of course, also “awaiting moderation”.   Obviously, these nutjobs are afraid of being challenged.  They will not allow their gullible followers to see the real facts.  Of course, if their followers were not lazy idiots themselves, perhaps they could figure it out themselves that they are being duped. But alas, such is life.  The idiots are out in force!

  1. One of the most idiotic accusations these conspiracy theorists make is regarding both Catholic and Muslim rituals and beliefs. We already have heard the “moon god” nonsense, which ignoramuses like Jack Chick liked to peddle. But Catholics were also targeted with false accusations of “Satanism”. Of course, as Muslims, we believe that Catholics are unbelievers who follow a false religion which will lead to eternal hellfire, but we don’t need to resort to petty lies to demonize Catholics. Protestant Christians, though, feel the need to resort to such deception. In the link above from “Mary Carmel News”, the idiotic author links to a video on YouTube purportedly showing Satan worship at a Catholic mass. The argument rests on the use of the Latin word “lucifer”, which of course, many people associate with Satan. But the problem with this argument is that the accusers are simply ignorant. The word “lucifer” is not a name for Satan, but actually means the “morning star” or the planet Venus.

    If it literally meant “Satan”, then the accusers have to admit that they too are “Satanists”! Why? Because the same word is used in the Latin Vulgate to refer to…Jesus! Here is the Latin version of 2 Peter 1:19:

    “et habemus firmiorem propheticum sermonem cui bene facitis adtendentes quasi lucernae lucenti in caliginoso loco donec dies inlucescat et lucifer oriatur in cordibus vestris” (https://www.blueletterbible.org/vul/2pe/1/19/t_conc_1157019)

    Here is the English translation:

    “We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.”

    So who is this “morning star”? According to Christian commentaries, it is referring to the return of Jesus. For example, “Barnes’ Notes” states:

    “The apostle directs the mind onward to a period when all shall be clear – to that glorious time when the Saviour shall return to receive his people to himself in that heaven where all shall be light.” (https://biblehub.com/commentaries/barnes/2_peter/1.htm)

    Further proof can be found in Revelation 22:16, where Jesus is quoted as referring to himself as the “bright morning star”:

    “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you[a] this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”

    So it seems the Christians believe Jesus is Satan (nauzubillah)! Of course, this would only be true if we ignore facts and jettison our reason. But that’s what people like Jack Chick and other like-minded simpletons do: they ignore facts and reason, in favor of lies and deception.

    All of this is just to see how low that some of these Christians will go. I am not in any way defending Catholicism, but I do believe in honest and fair discussions. Catholics don’t worship Satan, even though their beliefs are inspired by him and are false.

      1. It appears that some Christians misinterpreted Isaiah 14. There, the king of Babylon is called “lucifer” but some Christians also interpreted it to refer to Satan. Hence, lucifer and Satan eventually became synonymous.

    Looking over commentary Subhanallah you’re right the Christians do insult Isa(as) despite claiming to love him:

    (12) How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!—The word for Lucifer is, literally, the shining one, the planet Venus, the morning star, the son of the dawn, as the symbol of the Babylonian power, which was so closely identified with astrolatry. “Lucifer” etymologically gives the same meaning, and is used by Latin poets (Tibull. i., 10, 62) for Venus, as an equivalent for the phôsphoros of the Greeks. The use of the word, however, in mediæval Latin as a name of Satan, whose fall was supposed to be shadowed forth in this and the following verse, makes its selection here singularly unfortunate. Few English readers realise the fact that it is the king of Babylon, and not the devil, who is addressed as Lucifer. While this has been the history of the Latin word, its Greek and English equivalents have risen to a higher place, and the “morning star” has become a name of the Christ (Revelation 22:16).

    So this serves as another proof of the Prophet(saw). If he was “copying” the Bible and Christianity he would’ve called Satan the name “Lucifer” copying this mistake in interpretation instead of the name “Iblis”.

    1. Yes, both the pagan king of Babylon and the blessed Prophet Jesus (pbuh) are described using the same term. Of course, that is not in itself a bad thing. As shown, the word lucifer simply meant the morning star, the plantet Venus. It was a metaphor for a bright light or some bright object, signifying power. But when Christians resort to stupid arguments, they inevitably set themselves up with their ignorance.
